Barbara Fletcher is a UK artist specialising in oil colour landscape paintings. Like many UK artists, her online gallery is frequently changing, with new landscape art regularly appearing. As well as being a UK landscape artist with a wide variety of landscape paintings mainly in Gloucestershire UK and Worcestershire UK, Barbara also does seascape paintings, most of which are in Cornwall UK

Barbara studied painting at the Gloucestershire College of Art and Design where she gained an honours degree in Fine Art. She has exhibited in many group exhibitions and exhibits regularly with the Gloucestershire Society of Artists and her work is held in private collections both here in the UK and abroad.

Although Barbara has worked with many different media she now mainly paints in oils, acrylics and watercolours and specializes in impressionist and semi abstract landscape paintings, beach/seascapes and portraits.

"I draw the initial inspiration for my paintings from the many and varied sources in my surroundings and everyday experiences, sometimes in very ordinary and mundane places and things such as a reflection in a stream, a sideways glimpse of mist on a distant hill, the play of light on a wet beach or a particularly pleasing juxtaposition of colours or tones, but as each painting develops, a much more subjective force, borne of the sheer enjoyment of working and creating with a brush or palette knife loaded with paint, seems to take over and what emerges appears to be something with a life of its own."
